9 DE JULIO PARK
In the main park of the city and center of its daily life. It is located in the lot chosen by Don Hernando de Lerma to found the city of 16 of April of 1582. The park has eighty varieties of trees and native plants, it is the unique park of the Argentina surrounded by recovas. In its center is the General Juan Antonio Alvarez de Arenales monument, hero of the independence, surrounded by "musas" that represents the 14 existingprovinces at that time.

CABILDO
It dates from the times of the foundation and although successive constructions replaced the original building, the reforms that arrive at our days were realized in 1783. Is a solid construction in which their colonial arcs, their balconies, and the facade with two superposed porches stand out. Was declared National historical monument in 1941. Its interior solved around inner patios lodges the historical museum of the north. This place conserve valuable collections that allow nowadays to appreciate the colonial past of Salta, the origins of its history and the evolution experimented by the city.

ARTISAN MARKET
The 15 of 1968 July open the doors the first Artisan market of the Argentine Republic, located in the San Martin street, number 2555 of this city. It works in a family building that used to belong to a kind of "raigambre" family of the saltena society. The construction of the building begun in the middle of century XVII. At this moment shows craftsmen of all the province, grouped in different associations, that offer a great variety of works of basketwork, silver, forged iron, and woven: in wich we can remack the carpets and the popular salteno woven called Poncho, among others manifestations. Open every day from 9 to 21hs.
