This luck of railway miracle hits by the film landscapes in which it manages to also entremeter itself and by the rollers, zig-zags, viadutcos, tunnels and bridges that cross.
From the city of Salta the ascent (to the 1,200 m.s.n.m.) takes place with the single traction of the locomotive, without using racks and arrives at 4,200 meters in the polovorilla viaduct (a few kilometres from San Antonio de los Cobres).
To see the passage of the train from the polvorilla viaduct, really makes an impression, since it crosses the abyss without railings and resting on highest pillars; here the train seems to be suspended in the air, thanks to the impressive work of engineering mounted between 1921 and 1948 by architect Richard Maury.
The train takes 10 wagons and 500 passengers, whom between April and novimbre cross 438 km. The trip has a service of guide, information and entertainments that contribute a added value to the stroll. It is advised to reserve ahead of time.
